ATM PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (SINGAPORE)

ATM PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM
machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For
example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM
recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed
in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested,
but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to
help you.
This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is
seldom used because people don't know it exists.

Please pass this along to everyone possible.

Robby's Night

At the prodding of my friends, I am writing this story. My name is Mildred Hondorf. I am a former elementary school music teacher from Des Moines, Iowa. I've always supplemented my income by teaching piano lessons-something I've done for over 30 years.

Over the years I found that children have many levels of musical ability. I've never had the pleasure of having a prodigy though I have taught some talented students.

However I've also had my share of what I call "musically challenged" pupils. One such student was Robby. Robby was 11 years old when his mother (a single Mom) dropped him off for his first piano lesson. I prefer that students (especially boys!) begin at an earlier age, which I explained to Robby.

But Robby said that it had always been his mother's dream to hear him play the piano. So I took him as a student. Well, Robby began with his piano lessons and from the beginning I thought it was a hopeless endeavour. As much as Robby tried, he lacked the sense of tone and basic rhythmneeded to excel. But he dutifully reviewed his scales and some elementary piecesthat I require all my students to learn.

Over the months he tried and tried while I listened and cringed and tried to encourage him. At the end of each weekly lesson he'd always say, "My mom's going to hear me play someday." But it seemed hopeless He just did not have any inborn ability. I only knew his mother from a distance as she dropped Robby off or waited in her aged car to pick him up. She always waved and smiled but never stopped in.

Then one day Robby stopped coming to our lessons.

I thought about calling him but assumed because of his lack of ability, that he had decided to pursue something else. I also was glad that he stopped coming He was a bad advertisement for my teaching!

Several weeks later I mailed to the student's homes a flyer on the upcoming recital. To my surprise Robby (who received a flyer) asked me if he could be in the recital. I told him that the recital was for current pupils and because he had dropped out he really did not qualify. He said that hismother had been sick and unable to take him to piano lessons but he was still practising. "Miss Hondorf I've just got to play!" he insisted.

I don't know what led me to allow him to play in the recital. Maybe it was his persistence or maybe it was something inside of me saying that itwould be all right. The night for the recital came. The high school gymnasiumwas packed with parents, friends and relatives. I put Robby up last in the programme before I was to come up and thank all the students and play a finishing piece. I thought that any damage he would do would come at the end of the program and I could always salvage his poor performancethroughmy "curtain closer."

Well, the recital went off without a hitch. The students had been practising and it showed. Then Robby came up on stage. His clothes were wrinkled and his hair looked like he'd run an eggbeater through it. "Why didn't he dress up like the other students?" I thought. "Why didn't his mother at least make him comb his hair for this special night?"

Robby pulled out the piano bench and he began. I was surprised when he announced that he had chosen Mozart's Concerto #21 in C Major. I was not prepared for what I heard next. His fingers were light on the keys, they even danced nimbly on the ivories. He went from pianissimo to fortissimo. From allegro to virtuoso. His suspended chords that Mozart demands were magnificent! Never had I heard Mozart played so well by people his age. After six and a half minutes he ended in a grand crescendo and everyone was on their feet in wild applause.

Overcome and in tears I ran up on stage and put my arms around Robby in joy. "I've never heard you play like that Robby! How'd you do it?" Through the microphone Robby explained: "Well Miss Hondorf... remember I told you my Mom was sick? Well, actually she had cancer and passed away this morning. And well, she was born deaf so tonight was the first time sheeverheard me play. I wanted to make it special."

There wasn't a dry eye in the house that evening. As the people from Social Services led Robby from the stage to be placed into foster care, noticed that even their eyes were red and puffy and I thought to myself how much richer my life had been for taking Robby as my pupil.

No, I've never had a prodigy but that night I became a prodigy... of Robby's. He was the teacher and I was the pupil. For it is he that taught me the meaning of perseverance and love and believing in yourself and maybeeven taking a chance in someone and you don't know why.

Robby was killed in the senseless bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in April of 1995. And now, a footnote to the story.

Love Life

Look at the following scenarios:
*
A) Two people trapped in a lift.
B) Nobody in a deserted village except yourself.
C) Pollution of any kind (to the sea or land etc.)
D) Buildings - collapse / fire disasters / natural disasters.
*
Which one do u feel is the most miserable??

A) Two people trapped in a lift.*

You feel a bit inferior about yourself. You tend to think very well. However when it involves personal feelings, you are in a total mess!!!!

Lovelife:
You can manage a one to one relationship but when too many competitors or targets appear, you will tend to panic and ruin everything instead! Do not possess the ability to flirt around. Try not to be a boring lover.

B) Nobody in a deserted village except yourself.*

You are basically a person who enjoys looking back to the past. A very emotional person indeed. Easily influenced by the people or surroundings around you. Eg. if society is sad about the death of Princess Diana, you will also share the same sentiments or when watching a sad movie...like Titanic, you will be so engrossed in the movie that you will end up being sadder than the main casts in the movie!!!!!!!

Lovelife:
Very Messy! Are you a very confused person? Sometimes you like to be left alone; sometimes you want to be loved. Sometimes you need her/him; sometimes you don't? Does it sound familiar? You better sort out yourself before you cause another party to be in pain for you.

C) Pollution of any kind (to the sea or land etc.)*

You are suitable to go into politics cause u are able to differentiate between wrong from right pretty well and plus...you are very decisive.

Lovelife:
However when it comes to love, you are very INDECISIVE... and so you are not suitable to fall in love. As in similar to (B) You sometimes need him/her, sometimes you don't......same advice!! You go think it over and better not hurt another innocent party!!

D) Buildings- collapse/fir disasters /natural disasters.*

You are a person who is full of ambitions and creativity. You are very concerned about changes in the issues around you. You are also a very temperamental person. Mood swings tend to be your cup of tea.

Lovelife:
You are very easily attracted to the opposite sex which means that u can't possibly be a gay if u are a guy and that u can't possibly be a lesbian if u are a gal... cause u just can't possibly resist the opposite among the opposite sex!!!!! You can easily attract the opposite sex... (CONGRATS!!!). You are a great lover. Sometimes you'll just wonder why so many people like to chat with you. You are juz the flamboyant-type of person!

So people... which category are u in?

Important!

A stock clerk was sent to clean up a storeroom in a Port of Spain factory just recently.

When he got back, he was complaining that the storeroom was really filthy and that he had noticed dried mouse or rat droppings in some areas.

A couple of days later, he started to feel like he was coming down with stomach flu, complained of sore joints and headaches, and began to vomit.

He went to bed and never really got up again. Within two days he was severely ill and weak. His blood sugar count was down to 66, and his face and eyeballs were yellow.

He was rushed to the emergency at Mount Hope where he was diagnosed to be suffering from massive organ failure. He died shortly before midnight.

No one would have made the connection between his job and his death, had it not been for a doctor who specifically asked if he had been in a warehouse or exposed to dried rat or mouse droppings at any time.

They said there is a virus (much like the Hanta virus) that lives in dried rat and mouse droppings.

Once dried, these droppings are like dust and can easily be breathed in or ingested if a person does not wear protective gear or fails to wash face and hands thoroughly.

An autopsy was performed on the clerk to verify the doctor's suspicions.

This is why it is extremely important to ALWAYS carefully rinse off the tops of canned sodas or foods, and to wipe off pasta packaging, cereal boxes, and so on.

Almost everything you buy in a supermarket was stored in a warehouse at one time or another, and stores themselves often have rodents.

Most of us remember to wash vegetables and fruits but never think of boxes and cans.

The ugly truth is, even the most modern, upper-class, super store has rats and mice. And their warehouse most assuredly does!

Whenever you buy any canned soft drink, please make sure that you wash the top with running water and soap or, if that is not available, drink with a straw.

The investigation of soda cans by the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that the tops of soda cans can be encrusted with dried rat's urine, which is so toxic it can be lethal.

Canned drinks and other foodstuffs are stored in warehouses and containers that are usually infested with Rodents, and then they get transported to retail outlets without being properly cleaned.

You are never sure where the items came from, under what conditions they were stored, do the safe and sensible thing wash with a little chlorine in the water, dry with paper towels.

For KFC Lovers

Nots sure if true..
Hello KFC Lovers
A Horrible Fact about KFC

KFC has been a part of our American traditions for many years. Many people, day in and day out, eat at KFC religiously. Do they really know what they are eating? During a recent study of KFC done at the University of New Hampshire , they found some very upsetting facts.

First of all, has anybody noticed that just recently, the company has changed their name? Kentucky Fried Chicken has become KFC. Does Anybody know why? We thought the real reason was because of the "FRIED" Food issue.

IT'S NOT! ! The reason why they call it KFC is because they can Not use
the word chicken anymore. Why? KFC does not use real chickens. They actually use genetically manipulated organisms. These so called "chickens" are kept alive by structure. They have no beaks, no feathers, and no feet. Their bone structure is dramatically shrunk to get more meat out of them. This is great for KFC.

Because they do not have to pay so much for their production costs. There is no more plucking of the feathers or the removal of the beaks and feet. The government has told them to change all of their menus so they Do not say chicken anywhere. If you look closely you will notice this. Listen to their commercials, I guarantee you will not see or hear the word chicken. I find this matter to be very disturbing. I hope people will start to Realize this and let other people know.

Do you want to eat Sushi?

This is a true case of a Japanese man from Gifu Prefecture who incessantly about a persistent headache. Mr. Shota Fujiwara loves his sashimi and sushi very much to the
extent of trying to get them as "alive and fresh" as can be for his insatiable appetite. He developed a severe headache, but for the past three years had put it off as migraine and stress from work.

It was only when he started losing his phsyco-motor skills that he sought
medical help. A brain scan and x-ray revealed little however. But upon closer
inspection by a specialist on his scalp, the Doctor noticed small movements beneath his skin. It was then that the Doctor did a local anaesthetic to his scalp and discovered the cause!

Tiny tapeworms crawled out! Major surgery was thus immediately called for and the extent of the infestation was horrific!

Remember : tapeworms, roundworms and their eggs which abound in all fish,
fresh or saltwater, can only be killed by thorough cooking and/or freezing
the fish to between -4 deg C - 0 degsC

Never Lick Envelopes

A woman was working in a post office in California.

One day she licked the envelopes and postage stamps instead of using a sponge. That very day the lady found a cut on her tongue. A week later, she noticed an abnormal swelling of her tongue. She went to the doctor, and they found nothing wrong. Her tongue was not sore or anything. A couple of days later, her tongue started to swell more, and it began to get really sore, so sore, that she could not eat. She went back to the hospital, and demanded something be done. The doctor took an x-ray of her tongue and noticed a lump. He prepared her for minor surgery. When the doctor cut her tongue open, a live cockroach crawled out!!!!

There were cockroach eggs on the seal of the envelope. The egg was able to hatch inside of her tongue, because of her saliva. It was warm and moist...

This is a true story reported on CNN

Andy Hume wrote:
Hey, I used to work in an envelope factory. You wouldn't believe
the....things that float around in those gum applicator trays. I
haven't licked an envelope for years!" I used to work for a print shop
(32 years ago) and we were told NEVER to lick the envelopes. I never understood why until I had to go into storage and pull out 2500 envelopes that were already printed and saw several squads of cockroaches roaming around inside a couple of boxes with eggs everywhere. They eat the glue on the envelopes.
